Language Requirements My name is Sarah, I’m the Program Manager for the National Security Internship Program and I work for the FBI. The National Security Internship Program is the only internship program that we offer where we partner with another agency and in this case we partner with the Department of Homeland Security. They have the opportunity to increase and grow their language skills in the morning through classes as well as take classes on intelligence studies and thenhave actual hands on practical experience in the afternoon with one of the two agencies. Right now especially more than ever the younger generations are studying languages and are introducing themselves to different cultures and so the FBI is trying to bring them on board at a young age so that we can cultivate those skills and they can develop them and have a life long career with the bureau. A lot of times interns or students are thinking all we need is someone who can speak this language but that’s not true. If you are familiar with a culture and familiar with a language the FBI can use you. My name is Sarah and I work for the FBI and the United States of America.
