The Analyst

My name is John, I’m an intelligence analyst for the FBI.  I was surprised when I first came into government the amount of responsibility that you can be given if you just stand up and ask for it. Working day in and day out with FBI agents and FBI analysts across the organization to you know work against terrorists overseas or criminals here in the United States and seeing that play out in the media and on TV you know it’s hard not to feel like you make a difference in the end.

Last year there was a terrorist attack overseas and the FBI director asked that we put together a briefing for the Attorney General and working throughout the day and overnight with the state department and members of the FBI field office here in Washington DC. We put together that briefing and presented sort of a video depiction of the attack to the Attorney General and FBI director that morning.  It’s hard to imagine doing something that I think would rise to this level of significance at this point in my career. My name is John and I work for the FBI and the United States of America.
